Penipuan PRK Hulu Selangor: Pengundi Akan Buat Laporan Polis Beramai-ramai Hari Ini

Label:

[FMT] PETALING JAYA - 29 April: Hundreds of frustrated Hulu Selangor voters are expected to file a police report tomorrow over alleged fraud during Sunday's by-election.

According to a source, the report will cover a series of alleged wrongdoings.

"Some claimed that they were given money to vote for BN, or that their names were removed from the electoral roll.

"Some also complained that they were not given the opportunity to vote because they were told by Election Commission officers that they had already voted,” he told FMT.

They are expected to lodge the report with the Kuala Kubu Baru district police headquarters.

Meeting with police chief

This afternoon, the voters met with Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar to seek his advice on what to do.

“They had three main grouses over the elections, so I advised them to file a report at the Kuala Kubu Baru station, since the complainants are from there,” Khalid told FMT.

However, he did not want to elaborate on the grouses, saying, “Wait for them to lodge the report first.”

The police chief said he has instructed his top officers in the district to wait for the complainants tomorrow and take down the report.

“We have to see if the allegations fall under our jurisdiction, otherwise we might refer the matter to EC.

“But if the issues raised fall under our scope, then we would carry out a thorough investigation,” he added.

The Hulu Selangor by-election saw Barisan Nasiona's P Kamalanathan defeating PKR's Zaid Ibrahim by a 1,725-vote majority.

Zaid and other opposition leaders have accused the ruling coalition and Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak of using underhand tactics, such as “buying votes”.

Najib has since denied the allegation.

Yesterday, Zaid, a former law minister, revealed that he would file an election petition to declare the result “null and void”.

The PKR candidate is also initiating legal action against EC and the Umno-owned daily Utusan Malaysia.
